Charlie

This little cutie was a project I did with my stepson, Rodney. Took longer than we expected, but also came out better than we expected!

Use the sliders to compare before/after photos

New roof. Painted trim, shutters, & front door. Built a new railing for the porch and put in a garden.

Porch light, mailbox, house number are all new. Love the way the porch railing and front door paint turned out!

You can’t see, in the before pic, how awful the wall texture was. Rodney retextured it all by hand. The floor was sanded & stained & turned out fabulous! We also built an archway into the new mudroom/laundry room area (not pictured because I don’t have any before photos!)

Patching, texture work, painting & floor.

We thought the cabinets might be salvageable, but in the end had to pull them out. This was the first Ikea kitchen I built all by myself! Someone had drywalled right over one of the kitchen windows, we were so happy to open that up again. Also, I used tin ceiling tile for the backsplash and could not be happier with how that turned out.

There were also lots and lots of wall repair and drywalling done in here.

Bedroom just needed a little wall repair, paint, new hardware and stain for the closet doors, and new carpet.

This bedroom was so awful! Painted the paneling, replaced the closet door hardware, new carpet.

New toilet and sink. Tub just needed repainting (I like the Rustoleum kit). Tore off the old tile board and put up beadboard. New miror and lighting. New flooring.

The pipes, had burst in the attic, so we had to have everything replumbed. The plumber ran the lines along the top of the wall so they won’t freeze again, and Rodney built a box over them.
